Easy Tri-tip Roast on a Gas Grill
Просмотров 194 тыс.8 лет назад
Hey guys, this is my first cooking video that Ive made and uploaded. So please excuse the bad camera work and bad narrative. I will get better as I create and upload more vids. With that said, this video demonstrates how I simply seasoned and cooked a tri tip roast. Thank You, Enjoy!
Been using wood grills since I started bbqing for my family but now I gotta use a gas grill at my uncles house so thank you! This helps a lot man! Great video 👍🏼
Thank you
Lo probaré, thanks
5 minutes High heat between 500 degrees both sides after maintain temp of 300-350 degrees 20 minutes each side depending how much lbs.
Thanks
I added some beer on my piece of tri tip and put it for like another 5 mins damn was it good I don't know just thought I'd mention it
Aw beer always helps ! Cheers 🍺
Tried this today and came out 🔥🔥
About to get this in the next hour. I bought the Santa Maria tri tip from Costco and just pulled it out of the fridge . I have a new Weber with a sear side but only 3 burners . Will see. We like our meat the same temp as you . Hoping for the best
Ruined a perfectly good cut of beef by overcooking it
☝🏽😂
For Me 130F Perfect, and Tender:)
I’m using this method for the 4th tomorrow as a beginner griller I’m confident after watching this video hard to find video’s using propane grills
Hope it came out great!
@@jblmp215 yes it came out perfectly thank u for the video!!
Good video I'm going to do tri-tip next week
👍👍
Did you have all 4 burners on high when you seared it the first time or just the 2 on high?
Hi Eduardo. I honestly cant remember. But nowadays I do have all burners on for maximum heat when I sear. Thanks for watching.
I bought a New York roast both marinated next to the tri-tip I’m sure I can do that the same way you think
Never had a NY Roast before. I ll have to try that. Thanks for watching.
@@jblmp215 Man I bought it at grocery outlet here in California next to all the tri tip so I did it just like your video I watch your videos so many times I cok all my try tip that way thank you so much for an amazing video
great video, but i would suggest cutting against the grain. other than that, nice job
Why no oil?
I have that exact same grill! Thanks for posting, making this tonight.
Cool, Enjoy!
Thanks brother 💯👍
Weird I have the same bbq. Been wanting to move up to a better grill/smoker. Anyone have suggestions on anything? On a medium budget.
I have a Weber Kettle with a Slow n Sear in it. Works great as a smoker and a grill. Ive made the best ribs and steaks in it.
@@jblmp215 that sounds great I've seen them but never knew about the slow n sear. I'll have to check that out, thanks for the info!
Pat it in ; don’t smear it in.
Simple and straight to the point! Gave me and my family a great juicy tri-tip!! Thank you !!!
great glad your family enjoyed it. thanks for watching.
Good job man. I'm subscribing because we have the exact same grill.
Cool. Thank you for watching.
Pull at 140 dude and rest
Did u have the indirect heat side off the whole time or did u turn that side off when u place the tri tip on that side?
I think it was on, until I placed it on that side. Thanks for watching.
I come back to this video every time I grill tri tip. Comes out great every time. Thank you!
Great Im glad you found this vid helpful.
Here I am again! 😂
Anotha one! 😆
I’m back for the 4th time lol
Going to cook my first tri tip this super bowl weekend. Thanks for the video
Awesome. Im sure it will come out great. Enjoy!
Well-done, chalky white TrumpSteak, should serve it with ketchup and diet coke
That’s cremated!
Followed your instructions, first time cooking tri-tip on gas grill... Came out perfect! Thanks!!
Thats great! congrats. first of many im sure.
Ok, I did it and it turned out delicious!!! I seared and cooked away from the flame. It was super yummy. I AM the tri tip mama!
Awesome!!! Im glad you enjoyed it. Way to go Tri Tip MAMA!
Awesome
It’s all about finding your groove. If that’s how you like your meat. Your all good brother. Keep on keeping on. 💯🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Thank You and thanks for watching!
Easy to understand for beginners. Thanks a lot.
Youre welcome. Thanks for watching.
Looks delish! Got one marinating in fridge now. It’s a little less than 2lb. After searing both sides, how long do I keep it on indirect heat before flipping and then do I keep it on the flipped side for the same amount of time?
Also, is it ok if I keep the dry rub on it overnight in the fridge?
@@mikamamma Ooops just saw this. was on vacation. hope yours came out great. Over night is perfect for seasoning. Because it will absorb into the meat and make it more tender. After searing both sides, and placing on indirect, you would definitely need a temp probe to get to your desired doneness. Kind of hard to determine time because all grills dont perform the same. Im guessing for 2 lbs. No more than 30 minutes. That may be pushing it. So temp probe is best. Hope this makes sense.
JJs Way Mena ok , so once I put it on the indirect heat am I supposed to flip it at some point or just let it continue cooking on just the one side? Mine came out tasting amazing and looking perfectly medium rare, how I like it. However it was not all that tender. Could that be because of the fact that I flipped it halfway through cooking over the indirect heat? Not sure if I’m supposed to do that or not. Or could it just be because of the quality of the meat, itself. Would it ever have anything to do about the way it’s cut?? I’m not exactly sure what the term cutting against or with the grain actually means. Do you know? If so, Could you explain, please? Also does that really make any difference in the tenderness? Any insight greatly appreciated. Thank you for your initial reply and this great video, making it super simple and easy to grill something that once seemed somewhat daunting to me ;) TRULY appreciated! My family L🤤VED!
JJs Way Mena just watched your video again and realized that you did indeed flip it once while cooking over the indirect heat so please disregard my question about that in my previous comment. Thanks though, for any of the other questions you might be able to answer!
Yeah I like mine just like that, pink!💯
Cool Yeah! Thanks for watching!
@@jblmp215 Looks medium-well, overcooked
A little overdone for my taste but I Iiked how you cooked it
Cool thanks for watching.
How can I cook rice on my grill?🤔
With a pot of water. Lol
Thank you so much, it came out perfect 👌
Great! and thank you for watching!
Thanks for the helpful video! Do you think this would work for a beef chuck roast?
Thanks for watching. This particular method wont. A chuck roast needs to be slow cooked. Either in oven, stove top, slow cooker or pressure cooker. Theres some helpful vids on YT on different ways to cook a chuck roast. 👍🏼
@@jblmp215 Hi, I tried it as I didn't see this response til now but it worked good and we LOVED it! Thanks
Thank you, I thought you did a great job on the video and I appreciate it. You were too hard on yourself apologizing for the camera work and narration. They were both fine. I'm sure you're no rookie now!! Glad you got that "chef's piece". I was hoping you would. I usually get one and slip one to the dog..lol Cheers
Yeah, Im better at it now. I want to make another video soon. I smoke tri tips on the Weber. Comes out awesome! Thanks for watching.
Great 👍🏽 video, very helpful. I’m also a rookie tri griller and you made it simple to get down the basics 🤙🏽
Thank you. and thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video!! Did my first tri tip and I’m still a rookie at the grill...tri tip came out really good!!!
Cool. Glad it came out good. Good luck with your future grilling!
Used this exact method and my tri-tip came out beautifully!
Awesome. And thanks for watching.
Looks good!
Thank You. And thanks for watching,
Thankx for the video
Thanks came out perfect
Cool. Im glad yours did. Thanks for watching!!! :)
Should slice it against the grain. Try cutting in half first, with the grain. Then slice each half against.
Don’t rub the seasoning, it will clump up . Use a shaker and pat it.
Yup. I dont rub or pat anymore. I use mustard and and a shaker, that works the best. I hardly touch the meat now. Thanks for your input.
Thanks for sharing the video. I learned a lot.
Thx I couldn’t get it right, your video is very helpful!
Great! Glad it was helpful. :) Thanks for watching.
